"The Whore's Child" by Richard Russo
Richard Russo used to teach at Southern Illinois University, but he is from Maine now and all of these short stories involve Camden or other coastal towns and islands of New England. It was an interesting read since I just got back from a roadtrip up there. Still, some of the short stories were a little lacking.
